The final week of non-conference play is almost here as the Utah Utes welcome their brothers from up north, the Utah State Aggies, to Salt Lake City for the first time since 2015.
QB Situation
While the starting quarterback situation remains up in the air for the Aggies after trotting out two different signal callers through their first two games, McCae Hillstead is likely to take the snaps for Utah State.
Listed as active, Hillstead missed last week’s matchup against the Washington Huskies due to a forearm injury. Utah State’s senior quarterback Grady Brosterhous started in his place, throwing for two touchdowns while being intercepted three times.
Hillstead, a Skyridge High alum, started his collegiate career in Logan in 2023 before transferring to BYU last season, where he attempted just five passes. The 5-foot-10 quarterback chose to make his way back up I-15, where he won the starting job for the new Pac-12 members.
A Rocky Start
The Lehi native tallied 1,062 yards during his freshman season with the Aggies, but his second stint in Logan didn’t get off to the best start.
