SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — October is finally here, and for those looking for a real scare, Utah has some of the best haunted houses in the nation. But which is the best? We’re ranking Utah’s haunted houses and other haunted attractions.

While these haunted houses are ranked by their Google reviews, each of them has different strengths and may wind up being your favorite, depending on what you’re looking for. Some are more immersive, whereas others rely less on gore for scares, and others still offer more variety, but no matter what, they’re bound to give you a fright.

This ranking is based on Google Maps reviews, and all of these haunted attractions have at least a 4.0 rating and more than 100 reviews. In cases where there is a tie in ratings, the attraction with more reviews wins out.

1. Castle of Chaos

Castle of Chaos is Utah’s highest-rated haunted house on Google, with 4.6 stars and over 3.3 thousand reviews. Located in Midvale, Castle of Chaos has been providing scares for over 25 years. It was included in USA Today’s Top Ten Haunted Houses in America List and was named one of America’s scariest Halloween attractions by the Travel Channel.
