Utah weather: Unseasonably warm temperatures and a few mountain showers to start the week

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Happy Monday, Utah! Near-record warmth will continue with temperatures 10-15° above average across Utah this week. A weak disturbance will provide increased cloud cover and a few mountain showers early this week; otherwise, dry conditions will persist.

Today’s forecast

The week will start out with unseasonably warm temperatures sticking around, with some increasing cloud cover along with sunshine. A weak disturbance will start to slide through Utah today and Tuesday, which will help to break down the ridge of high pressure a bit. This disturbance will lack any real moisture to provide rain showers to most valley locations, besides just the increase in cloud cover.

We’ll see a mixture of clouds and sunshine today and Tuesday, with the best chances of rain showers across our mountain ranges. Though these rain showers will be isolated across the Uintas and southern/central mountains.

Temperatures will warm 10-15° above average, with some locations flirting with or potentially breaking record highs. Salt Lake is forecast to reach 87° today, with the current record set at 87° in 1993…
