Senate to debate bill mandating bathroom use based on birth certificate gender

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) – The bill that prohibits people from using bathrooms and locker rooms that don’t align with their biological sex is one step closer to becoming law. House Bill 257, known on Capitol Hill as the “transgender bathroom bill,” passed through the Senate Business and Labor Committee by a five to three vote. It now goes to the full Senate for a vote.
