SALT LAKE CITY ( ABC4 ) – It is a rare opportunity to sit down one-on-one with one of the Twelve Apostles for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The Church’s newest apostle, Elder Patrick Kearon, is only a month and-a-half on the job, and he spoke with ABC4’s Brian Carlson about what it is like taking on such a big responsibility.

What’s it like being asked to serve as one of the Twelve Apostles for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-days Saints?
“It was shocking then six weeks ago, and it still is,” said Elder Patrick Kearon, Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
On Tuesday Reporter Brian Carlson sat down with the newest member of the Twelve, Elder Patrick Kearon, who, last month, replaced Quorum President M. Russell Ballard, who died in November. Kearon said he struggles with the weight of the job.
“How does it feel?” asked Brian Carlson.
“It feels beyond me. That of course is the short version, but important for me to understand that I’m not meant to do this alone. The sooner I can stop these thoughts and these inner conversations the better I’ll turn out and get on with the job, the better,” said Kearon.
