TOOELE, Utah ( ABC4 ) — Crews are searching for a man after he fell through the ice on a reservoir near Tooele Monday night just moments after he pulled a woman from the frigid water.
Cpl. Colbey Bentley with Tooele police said the woman called police shortly before 7 p.m., saying that a man fell through the ice on Settlement Canyon Reservoir, which is just south of Tooele.

The woman, identified as being in her early 20s, told police that the man saved her after she broke through the ice, but as she got out of the water, he fell in and went under.
“She wasn’t able to see him where he fell in,” Bentley said. “There’s a pretty steep grade, and they were approximately two feet off the bank.”
Search and rescue crews responded to the reservoir, and trained divers entered the water. Flood lights were set up to shed light on the search, and a robot was called up to help search under the ice.
When asked if the rescue had turned into a recovery mission, Bentley said crews were still hopeful to find the man alive. The man was also identified as being in his early 20s.
