AMERICAN FORK, Utah ( ABC4 ) — Utah County authorities are searching for a 19-year-old woman after she went missing in American Fork Canyon.

The Utah County Sheriff’s Office says Mckenna Miner, from Provo, was last spoken to on Sunday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. and has not been seen since.

A family member found her car parked near Tibble Fork Reservoir and authorities say it has been there since at least 9 a.m. on Monday. She is known to hike in the area often, however, search and rescue crews have not yet narrowed down their search.

“Unfortunately, we don’t have a specific area at this moment so we’re just kind of trying to do an overall grid search of the high probable and high traveled areas in the wintertime,” UCSO Search and Rescue Sgt. Dallin Turner said.

Authorities are using several different methods to locate her, including 25 members of the Search and Rescue team on foot, a mounted horse posse, and a helicopter flying over the area. Crews remain hopeful they will find her.
