Suspect in custody after barricading himself inside Clinton home

Police responded to a barricaded suspect inside a home Tuesday in Davis County and have now safely taken him into custody.

Shortly before 11 a.m., officers with the Clinton City Police Department responded to the area of 1600 North 2900 West. They were asked by Salt Lake City Police to watch for a vehicle that had evaded officers. The suspect arrived, then immediately fled inside the home when the officers tried to apprehend him.

Police learned that the man had a no-bail warrant for his arrest. He then barricaded himself inside the home and refused to come out.

A SWAT team was brought in to assist due to the man’s criminal history and the active warrant. They were eventually able to negotiate with him, and he surrendered.
