Park City, UT Passes 200 Inches Of Snow This Season

Yesterday, Park City Mountain Resort , Utah, surpassed a significant seasonal milestone, reporting they’d picked up over 200 inches of snow this winter after a mid-week 6-inch refresh.

Utah, much like everywhere else, had a somewhat funky start to the ski season. Yes, resorts got open, but it wasn’t constantly amazing—some periods might’ve even been considered average to bad conditions wise (gasp).

However, thanks to snowier weather in the new year, Utah got back on track, with prominent ski resorts like Alta surpassing 300 inches of snow for the 2023-2024 ski season. Alta Ski Area is currently sitting on 350 inches of snow.

As for Park City Mountain Resort, the ski area is well on track to hit its seasonal average—355 inches—before winter wraps up.

For a more typical (if a bit dry) Utah winter like this one, that’s worth celebrating. See, comparing snowfall totals to winter’s past, particularly last winter, isn’t in anyone’s best interests. The odds of topping the 2022-2023 winter aren’t high. Setting expectations low and being pleasantly surprised is better than the opposite.
