ORIGINAL POST: AMERICAN FORK, Utah ( ABC4 ) — The American Fork Police Department has released the identity of a man who reportedly shot at a locked gate more than 20 times before allegedly stealing an impounded vehicle on Feb. 6.
According to police, the man is believed to be Kevin Ballew, 36, and investigators say Ballew was the driver of the vehicle before it was impounded by an American Fork towing company.
Ballew allegedly fled the scene in a silver 2010 Honda Civic with Florida license plates reading HEZN57, according to AFPD. Police say the vehicle may have some damage on the front end.

Police initially responded to the scene after there were reports of shots fired; at the scene, they found one of the back windows of the business was broken before discovering the silver Civic was missing from the tow yard.
