62-year-old man dies after crashing into parked car in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY ( ABC4 ) — A 62-year-old man was found dead inside a crashed car on Sunday night, Sept. 15, prompting an investigation by the Salt Lake City Police Department.

Detectives said the investigation started just before 11:30 p.m. when officers responded to the crash near 900 East and Blaine Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found the man, who had not been identified, dead inside the car.

The man had reportedly crashed his car into another car that was unoccupied and parked in the area. The specific cause of the crash and the man’s death is currently unknown and under investigation. Detectives are reportedly investigating whether a medical episode may have occurred before the crash.

No other injuries as a result of the crash were reported.

The Salt Lake City Police Department said Sunday night’s crash was the seventh traffic-related fatality in Salt Lake City for 2024.
