SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) – Sept. 17 marks Constitution Day in the United States, commemorating the signing of the founding document that is the foundation for American government and Americans’ rights, a living, breathing document that has been constantly updated throughout the country’s history to reflect societal changes, attempts to police morality, the recognition that all people of all races must be afforded the same rights, and is the central point for many debates surrounding seemingly-unsolvable issues due to language used in the 18th Century and how it’s been interpreted over the follow two-and-a-half centuries.
