According to arrest documents, Midvale Police requested assistance from other agencies regarding a 911 call from the 4300 block of South Marvinwood Drive in Taylorsville. A woman, later identified as Mendenhall, reportedly told authorities that she was abducted, put into the trunk of a car, and that a male suspect had an AK-47 rifle.

Mendenhall reportedly told police that she believed the suspect lived in a townhome near Salt Lake Community College. She described the residence as “the last home on the street next to a white barrier in the neighborhood behind [the] SLCC campus.”
