BLUFFDALE, Utah ( ABC4 ) — A car crash on I-15 involving seven vehicles near the Point of the Mountain in Bluffdale early Tuesday morning has led to an extensive delay for commuters heading into Salt Lake County.
Cpl. Jared Heywood with the Utah Highway Patrol confirmed with ABC4.com that the seven-car crash blocked the left two lanes just south of 14600 South before 7 a.m. on Nov. 5. Medical personnel was called out to the scene but fortunately there were no serious injuries and no one was transported to the hospital.
Details on what led to the pile-up were not released.
The crash significantly slowed traffic around the point of the mountain into Utah County. The Utah Department of Transportation traffic map indicated traffic backed up nearly four miles from Bluffdale into Lehi.
Cpl. Heywood said crews expect the two left lanes to reopen around 9 a.m. on Tuesday. In the meantime, drivers can expect delays and are advised to use an alternate route, if possible.
