The Utah Utes still do not officially know whether quarterback Cam Rising will return to the program for a fifth season; however, Isaac Wilson will return in 2025 after reversing his decision to enter the transfer portal.
Wilson, a four-star prospect from the 2024 recruiting class, according to 247 Sports, announced he would enter the transfer portal on December 8, but just over a week later, he withdrew his name.
Utah quarterbacks Brandon Rose and Sam Huard also entered the portal, leaving Wilson as the only quarterback confirmed for the Utes’ 2025 season.
The 6-foot, 190-pound signal-caller appeared in nine games for Utah, passing for 1,510 yards, ten touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
Wilson, brother to Denver Broncos and former BYU quarterback Zach Wilson, was the No. 280-ranked recruit in his class by 247Sports’ composite, and named the starter after Rising went down for the season in October with a lower leg injury.
Since Rising, who began his career at Texas before transferring to Utah, only played in three games, he could take a medical redshirt. He turns 26 years old next May.
