Officials seek help identifying body found on I-215

SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah ( ABC4 ) — Officials were notified of a body on I-215 early Sunday morning, and are now seeking help from the public to identify the deceased person.

According to a press release from the Utah Highway Patrol , the body was found near 1600 West on I-215 South around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22. The man who was found in the road was described as a Hispanic man around the age of 30.

When troopers arrived at the scene, no vehicles were identified as being involved in hitting the deceased individual. Since then, UHP said it has identified up to two parties involved in the incident.

“Efforts to identify the deceased male are ongoing,” UHP said in the release. “If anyone has information to help us identify this individual, or they may have also hit him, they can contact our dispatch center at 801-887-3800.”

UHP also said there are no indications of foul play at this point in the investigation, but it is still ongoing. Roads were closed for about two hours for the initial investigation on Sunday.
