Utah DT Keanu Tanuvasa Announces Intent to Transfer In Unexpected Move

Keanu Tanuvasa established himself as not only one of the best defensive players but also an undisputed leader for the Utes in 2024.

However, after announcing his intent to stay with the program, “Nu” has officially entered the transfer portal in a move that has blindsided the Utah faithful.

During his sophomore season, Tanuvasa tallied 16 total tackles, four passes defended, and a sack in six games played, and racked up 49 total tackles, five passes defended, four sacks, and one forced fumble in his time with the program.

The 6-foot-4 301-pound Mission Viejo, California native was one of the most outspoken Utes on X regarding former teammate and now Alabama cornerback Cam Calhoun’s transfer portal announcement, which has only fueled the flames of his departure.

Fans were far from happy in the replies to his announcement with many seemingly disappointed in this decision in comparison to his rhetoric and actions leading up to this point in the transfer portal.

As of now, Tanuvasa hasn’t posted any offers he’s received since entering the portal, but it seems as though money is yet again a pressing factor for Utah to reckon with despite having a relatively successful window up to this point.
