Utah man accused of ‘targeted drive-by shooting’ at West Valley New Year’s Eve party

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah ( ABC4 ) — A Utah man is facing several felony charges after being accused of being behind a “targeted drive-by shooting” at a West Valley City New Year’s Eve party.

Anthony Junior Almaguer, 27, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for 10 counts of third-degree felony aggravated assault, as well as third-degree felony possession of a firearm by a restricted person and felony discharge of a firearm. He also faces several misdemeanor charges related to driving under the influence.

According to court documents, Almaguer drove by a West Valley home three times on New Year’s Eve, allegedly firing a gun toward the home each time. Police say they found seven seven shell casings on the street in front of the home and bullet holes in the front of the house and in vehicles parked outside.
