SOUTH JORDAN – South Jordan police said Tuesday the person shot and killed by police during a shootout on Friday was a 17-year-old boy. His name has not been released. South Jordan officers responded to reports of a vehicle theft on Friday. Police said the person inside the vehicle fired at officers, and officers returned fire while he ran away.
