Utah Spring Weather: Rain and Snow Expected in Salt Lake City by Thursday Night

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – A spring storm will bring rain and snow to northern Utah starting Thursday, impacting travel and outdoor plans. The system is expected to arrive by midday Thursday, bringing rain before transitioning to snow Thursday night.

According to the National Weather Service, precipitation will begin as rain in the afternoon before mixing with snow overnight. Snow accumulation is expected to remain light, with less than an inch possible in the Salt Lake City area. However, higher elevations could see more significant snowfall, which may create hazardous driving conditions on mountain passes, including I-80 and Parleys Canyon.
