Utah Winter Weather Alert: Up to 16 Inches of Snow in Wasatch Mountains Until 4 PM Saturday

Salt Lake City, UT – A potent winter storm is expected to blanket Utah’s high terrain with heavy snow beginning Friday night, bringing significant travel disruptions across the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 8 p.m. Friday to 4 p.m. Saturday. The advisory covers the Wasatch Mountains north and south of I-80, the Western Uinta Mountains, and the Wasatch Plateau/Book Cliffs. Total snow accumulations are projected between 5 to 10 inches, with localized amounts reaching up to 16 inches in areas such as the upper Cottonwoods and Bear River Range.
