Flavored vape is now banned in Utah after federal judge’s preliminary ruling

SALT LAKE CITY ( ABC4 ) — Nearly all flavored vape products are now banned in Utah after a federal judge’s Monday ruling in an ongoing lawsuit against the state’s new e-cigarette law.

A law banning all flavored e-cigarette products was set to go into effect at the beginning of 2025 but was put on pause after a judge granted a temporary restraining order in late December.

On Monday, March 24, Federal Judge David Barlow granted a preliminary injunction stating that Utah’s newly devised inspection program could violate the Fourth Amendment rights of vapor businesses and ordered the state to temporarily put the inspections on hold…
