SALT LAKE CITY ( ABC4 ) — Expect some heavy delays on your Friday morning commute on northbound I-15 near Midvale after roughly 50 gallons of fuel spilled onto the freeway.
Lt. Cameron Roden confirmed with ABC4.com that the fuel came from a semi-truck around 6 a.m. on Friday, March 28. The semi reportedly was involved in a collision that caused the leak, blocking the right two lanes on northbound I-15.
Roden warned drivers that the closure could go on “for a while” as hazmat crews have to pump the fuel out of the semi as part of the clean-up process.
The spill has backed up traffic five miles – stretching as far back as South Jordan at 10600 South – and has caused several smaller crashes…
