Batten down the hatches: Strong winds blow into Southern Utah

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for parts of Southern Utah.

The advisory goes into effect at noon on Monday, ending at midnight. Winds are expected to reach 25-35 mph, with gusts up to 55 mph. Impacted locations include Escalante, Kanab, Bryce Canyon City, Beaver, Panguitch, Milford and Cedar City, according to the weather service.

“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and a few power outages may result,” the advisory states. “Strong winds and rough waves on area lakes will create hazardous conditions for small craft. Blowing dust may reduce visibility.”…
