SANDY, Utah (KUTV) — A Sandy man has been arrested in connection with an aggravated robbery at a 7-Eleven store.
According to Sandy police, officers responded to the convenience store located at 7825 S. 700 E. on Monday, March 24, after receiving reports of a robbery involving a firearm. The store employee told police that the suspect, identified as 39-year-old Saul Junior Diaz, was witnessed on surveillance camera footage slipping a condom ring into his pocket. When confronted, Diaz became agitated and threatened the suspect that he had a gun.
The victim reported that they feared for their safety, and allowed the woman Diaz was with to pay for her items, but Diaz never paid for the item he had concealed. Diaz and the woman left the 7-Eleven together in a dark silver 2000 Saturn sedan, which was later traced to the woman, identified as Diaz’s partner…
