Man accused of giving minor alcohol, shooting him with AK-47 during ‘hang out’

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — A man is facing charges after he allegedly gave a minor alcohol and shot him with an AK-47 in front of two children.

Jason Wayne Angell, 35, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault resulting in serious bodily injury, a second-degree felony; felony discharge of a firearm, a second-degree felony; two counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child, both third-degree felonies; and knowingly sell, offer, or furnish alcohol to a minor, a class A misdemeanor.

On Tuesday, officers with the Unified Police Department Magna Precinct received a call from a woman who said her son’s friend shot himself “in the private parts,” the affidavit states.
