Wrong-way driver killed in Salt Lake City head-on collision; northbound I-15 closed

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — A wrong-way driver was killed Sunday afternoon after colliding head-on with an Audi on a Salt Lake City interstate.

Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Luis Silva said troopers responded to reports of a blue Toyota Camry traveling in the wrong direction on northbound I-15 near 700 South around noon on April 6. Silva told 2News that the Camry had been traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-80 before entering northbound I-15, heading south.

The Camry then struck a northbound Audi near milepost 307. The wrong-way driver sustained fatal injuries, while the Audi driver was transported to a local hospital in stable condition…
