Wasatch Back Major Crimes Task Force arrested six individuals Thursday when an ongoing investigation of a series of burglaries and vehicle thefts came to a head.
The investigation has been ongoing since January. Detectives from the Wasatch Back Major Crimes Task Force worked with the Park City Police Department to connect more than a dozen incidents in Heber City, Midway, Park City and across Wasatch County.
Detectives and police arrested six individuals after executing two search warrants at residences in Heber City. Six agencies were involved: Wasatch Back Major Crimes, Wasatch and Heber SWAT, Heber City Patrol, Park City Investigations, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Utah Attorney General’s Office.
All six individuals were identified as undocumented immigrants. Heber Police Sgt. Josh Weishar said for now they will be booked on six charges: theft with a value exceeding $5,000, possession with intent to distribute, failure to register as a sex offender, possession of a firearm by a restricted person, forgery and five counts of child endangerment…
