13 puppies rescued from central Utah desert, adoption fees waived

EMERY COUNTY, Utah ( ABC4 ) — Officials have rescued 13 puppies after tourists found them in the desert in Emery County.

According to Best Friends Salt Lake City , animal rescue crews have now captured a total of 13 dogs found “out loose” in the San Rafael Swell Recreation Area in central Utah. While officials are not sure how many dogs were in the area, they believe they have caught them all.

Seven of the puppies were caught last week, and four more were rescued on Monday and are currently being brought back to the shelter. Some of the dogs have already been adopted from the Emery County Shelter.

The dogs are believed to be between 6 to 18 months old, and the organization is asking for foster caregivers to help house them while they get medically cleared for adoption…
