Nearly 10K customers remain without power along Wasatch Front

SALT LAKE CITY — Rocky Mountain Power officials say they are investigating the causes of different power outages that have left over 10,000 customers without power across the Wasatch Front Monday afternoon.

Nearly 10,000 remained without power as of 4:30 p.m., according to the state’s largest power provider. The number had surpassed 14,000 earlier in the afternoon, impacting mostly Salt Lake County and southern Davis County areas.

Some outages were first reported around 1 p.m., beginning in the Avenues and Central City portions of Salt Lake City. The number has since grown to other parts of the city and the surrounding area…
