SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Happy Thursday, Utah! Our Thursday afternoon will feature more sunshine and hot temperatures. A southwesterly breeze will help to keep some dust and haze in the air. Highs will warm into the mid-90s for the Wasatch Front to 102° for St. George.
A stronger ridge of high pressure will settle overhead Friday, leading to drier and hotter conditions just in time for our Father’s Day weekend. High temps will be in the mid to upper 90s for the Wasatch Front. High temps across southern Utah will warm between 100°-105°.
The warm temperatures, low humidity levels, dry vegetation, and gusty southwest winds will lead to a critical fire danger developing across portions of central and southern Utah. Any outdoor burning will be highly discouraged.
A weak trough may arrive early next week, knocking a few degrees off daytime highs, but overall expect well-above average temperatures and mainly dry conditions to stick around through most of next week…
