In a recent citywide poll, Taylorsville residents have expressed strong approval for the local government and high satisfaction with the city’s quality of life, according to survey results released by the city. The survey, administered by Y2 Analytics from February 27 to March 18, showed an 86% approval rating for the Mayor and City Council, a reflection of the contentment with the way the city is being run, according to Taylorsville News.
Taylorsville, which has conducted an annual survey for the past seven years, uses this poll to gauge the wellness of the city and its services. “Residents are really satisfied with the way the city is being run,” Y2 Analytics director of research, Tatiana Gilchrist, as per Taylorsville News. The 2025 survey also reveals a 5-point increase from the previous year in residents who believe Taylorsville is heading in the right direction, now standing at 55%.
Public safety and law enforcement received an uptick in confidence as well, with Gilchrist noting, “There is also positive momentum around the police department,” as obtained by Taylorsville News. The city’s neighborhoods were lauded for their walkability and proximity to parks, which have become a priority for the residents’ hypothetical budget allocations.
