Draper mayor claims city had no choice but to approve new housing development plan

DRAPER, Utah (KUTV) — Draper Mayor Troy Walker said there’s nothing he can do to stop a new housing development.

The development will be right across the street from the TRAX station on Kimballs Lane. Walker said that no matter how anyone feels about it, state law requires “station area” plans like it.

Walker said that because Draper has “transit assets,” meaning TRAX and the Front Runner, the city is required by the state to build density around them…
