Childhood kidnapping victim in disbelief as Utah inmate gets parole

KEARNS, Utah (KUTV) — A Utah woman who was kidnapped and raped as a teenager said it’s “unbelievable” that the man who attacked her is newly scheduled for parole after more than 20 years in prison.

Since at least 2006, Jenny Galvez has actively urged keeping Kevin Blanke in lockup — saying he’s never apologized to her for his crimes — but she learned on Monday he will be released.

“I thought it was a mistake,” she said when finding the decision online from the Utah Board of Pardons and Parole, citing what she called the convict’s “lack of remorse, and lack of accountability over the years.”
