SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Salt Lake City police have denied a 2News request for officers’ body camera video and recordings of 911 calls surrounding the deadly shooting at the ‘No Kings’ protest.
“This matter is still an open, active investigation,” Candee Allred, records paralegal at the police department, wrote on July 17th, adding that the records “have been classified as protected” under state code.
Utah law says records created for criminal “enforcement purposes” can be kept from the public if the release “reasonably could be expected to interfere with investigations.”…
