Memorial service for Afa Ah Loo, SLC protestor killed at ‘No Kings’ march

SALT LAKE CITY — Friends and family gathered Friday night at the Salt Palace Convention Center to pay their respects to Afa Ah Loo, the protester killed at the ‘No Kings’ march in downtown Salt Lake City on June 14.

Mourners arrived wearing their most vibrant colors and island prints in tribute to the late fashion designer. Though somber at times, the service was a true celebration of life in the Samoan tradition, full of warm memories, laughter and music.

The nearly four-hour program featured local leaders like Salt Lake County Mayor Jenny Wilson.
