Man wanted for allegedly stealing $218,000 Porsche from Utah dealership

SALT LAKE CITY — A man who allegedly purchased a Porsche by impersonating another person is facing criminal charges.

Robert Wesley McCorkle, 55, was charged Tuesday in 3rd District Court with theft by deception, communications fraud and identity fraud, second-degree felonies; and forgery, a third-degree felony.

In August 2023, a man bought a Porsche from a Salt Lake City dealership, according to charging documents. The man, later identified as McCorkle, claimed he had flown into Salt Lake City from California to purchase a vehicle worth nearly $218,000.
