WATCH: Fire starts in Cottonwood Heights, caused by fireworks

COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah (ABC4) —Multiple organizations responded to a field fire that threatened multiple homes on Thursday night.

Unified Fire Authority, Murray Fire Department, and Sandy Fire Department all responded to the scene of a fire that started in Cottonwood Heights in Sunnyoak Circle, late Thursday night. Initially, the fire was fast-spreading and responders were prepared to evacuate nearby homes.

Fortunately, firefighters were able to quickly contain the field fire before it affected any structures. There was no damage to nearby structures and no injuries were reported. Fire departments were also able to lift evacuations before they took place, according to Captain Tony Barker with Unified Fire.

Investigators were able to determine that the fire was started by fireworks…
