Two injured during The Gateway’s Fourth of July festivities, investigation underway

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — A night of music, fun, and fireworks in downtown Salt Lake City ended with confusion and concern after two people were hurt. Now, police are working to figure out exactly what happened.

People gathered at The Gateway in downtown Salt Lake City Friday night to celebrate the Fourth of July with live music, karaoke, yard games, and a fireworks show at 10:30 p.m.

It was a family-friendly, bag-free event, with only medical and diaper bags permitted for security reasons.
