WEST JORDAN, Utah (ABC4) — The Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office has declined to file charges in the Nov. 10, 2024, officer-involved shooting in West Jordan.
The shooting, which resulted in the death of Fernando Fernandez, happened in the early hours of Nov. 10, 2024. A woman reportedly called 911 and said that Fernandez was stealing her car from their West Jordan home.
Police arrived on scene and learned that Fernandez was threatening “suicide by cop,” while there were five children present. Police said Fernandez ran inside the home carrying a sword. He reportedly stayed at the door, telling officers to shoot him, and wouldn’t put down the sword…
