SALT LAKE CITY — The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a moderate threat for flash flooding across Southern Utah, warning that monsoonal moisture will fuel thunderstorms through the weekend. Campers, hikers and outdoor enthusiasts are urged to stay alert and reconsider travel into high-risk areas.
“Monsoonal moisture is seeping into Utah today, and it will linger into the weekend,” said KSL Chief Meteorologist Kevin Eubank. “We will see scattered thunderstorms across the state on Friday, with the chance of localized flooding in central and southern Utah near burn scars, dry washes, and slot canyons.”
