SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Mayor Erin Mendenhall, along with other Salt Lake City officials and pickleball enthusiasts, hosted a grand opening for a dozen new pickleball courts at Glendale Park on Saturday morning.
The pickleball courts are part of the redevelopment of the former Raging Waters waterpark site. Plans for redeveloping the site were first introduced as part of the Department of Public Lands’ Vision Plan in 2022. The plan included transforming four tennis courts into 12 pickleball courts, instead of just the originally planned four pickleball courts.
“These courts are the direct result of community voices shaping their own public spaces, and we’re proud to deliver this kind of meaningful, equitable investment to the Glendale neighborhood,” Mendenhall said…
