Suspect hospitalized after shooting involving Utah County Sheriff’s Office in West Jordan

WEST JORDAN, Utah (ABC4) — One person has been hospitalized following a shooting involving law enforcement as they were attempting to apprehend a suspect in West Jordan, late Wednesday morning.

Sgt. Andrew Hercules with the West Jordan Police Department said it was the Utah County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Task Force conducting an investigation and attempting to apprehend a suspect in the area of 7800 South and Redwood Road.

During that attempt to apprehend the suspect, Hercules said an altercation occurred and shots were fired by Task Force agents. The suspect, who has not been identified, was taken to the hospital in stable condition. One officer was treated by medical teams and released on the scene.

It is currently unclear what led to the altercation or specifically how the suspect suffered his injuries…
