Thousands honor fallen officers in procession through northern Utah

In a powerful display of unity and respect, thousands of northern Utah residents lined the streets from Taylorsville to Garland and Logan on Monday evening to honor the lives of Sergeant Lee Sorensen and Officer Eric Estrada, both killed in the line of duty on Sunday evening, Aug. 17.

The solemn procession began at the Office of the Medical Examiner in Taylorsville, leaving around 5:30 p.m., led by a motorcade of dozens of motorcycles and law enforcement vehicles from across the state.

By 5 p.m., hundreds of residents of Tremonton, Garland and the surrounding area were lined up on the street — not waning despite the nearly two hour wait — to show their love, appreciation and grief…
