Video captures incident leading to Salt Lake police officer shooting dog

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Residents in a Salt Lake City neighborhood are asking if killing a dog was necessary after an officer fired at the pet three times.

People living nearby believe the officer should have found another way to deal with a charging dog, claiming that the dog was small, so it was never a real threat.

The whole thing was caught on a woman’s doorbell camera. The video shows an officer running towards a building near 1700 South and Main Street, a small dog charging at him, and the officer responding with three gunshots…
