Salt Lake City, Utah – Scattered thunderstorms rolling across Utah Saturday are expected to bring bursts of heavy rain capable of triggering flash flooding in vulnerable areas, including slot canyons and dry washes. The highest risk is expected Saturday afternoon, just as many residents and tourists head outdoors.
According to the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City, deep moisture lingering over the region will fuel strong storm development across much of the state. Flash flooding could occur quickly, particularly in areas near recent burn scars and desert drainages that typically remain dry.
