WVCPD arrests man after alleged hit-and-run collision causing serious injuries

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, Sept. 21, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — West Valley City police arrested a man Saturday after his alleged involvement in a hit-and-run incident that left a victim with serious injuries.

Rulen Alexander Gonzalez, 35, was arrested for investigation of alleged:

  • Negligently operating a vehicle with serious injuries, a third-degree felony
  • Failure to remain at injury accident scene, a class A misdemeanor
  • Driving under the influence, first offense in 10 years, a class B misdemeanor
  • Failure to operate in a single lane, an infraction
  • No valid license, never obtained, an infraction

Court documents filed in the arrest of Gonzalez say he was the driver in a traffic accident during which the victim sustained substantial bodily injury.

The victim’s injuries included a fractured ulna, radius and humerus, “causing her to lose function of her right arm,” says an arrest document filed by an officer of the West Valley City Police Department…
