Salt Lake City on track for its rainiest October on record

SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City area is close to beating its own record for the rainiest October after receiving a whole lot of rain within the last two weeks.

According to National Weather Service Meteorologist Sam Webber, Salt Lake City received 3.48 inches of rain from Oct. 1 through Oct. 13. That’s more than seven times the average amount of water usually received during that timeframe.

This is also the seventh wettest October on record for the city, and it’s only .43 inches shy of Salt Lake City’s all-time wettest October recorded, which was in 1981…
