SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — The ongoing government shutdown has had ripple effects across the Salt Lake Valley, putting pressure on local food pantries already struggling to meet rising demand.
At the Salt Lake City Mission, Pastor Shawn Clay said the shelves are getting emptier by the day, and the need has never been greater.
“A lot of food pantries are struggling right now because the need has just grown so much,” Clay said.
