SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — A man has been found guilty of murder after intentionally hitting a man on a scooter as part of a “vengeance spree” in 2023.
Robert Johnson Boyatt, 55, has been found guilty by a jury of one count of murder (a first-degree felony) and one count of obstruction of justice (a second-degree felony).

Boyatt was initially arrested in July of 2023 in connection with the death of Victor Hershberger after hitting him with his vehicle on July 3, 2023. According to witnesses, Boyatt had made a U-turn in order to intentionally hit Hershberger.
Sentencing in this case is scheduled for December 8, 2025. For the first-degree felony, he is subject to between fifteen years to life in prison.
